Our Community
Welcome to the Layton Avenue Church Community! We are a diverse group of people. Our leadership is currently in the process of seeking God’s will for who is to become our lead pastor, since the retirement of our previous pastor last Spring. While this process is ongoing, we have a variety of active ministries that may be a blessing and of interest to you. Please browse our site and connect with us if you have any questions.

Our Transitional Pastor
Pastor Clyde Hamer has been involved in ministry for approximately 40 years. This ministry includes a diversity of experience including pastoring churches in both Arkansas and Wisconsin, including a church start in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His ministry has included both full time and bi-vocational ministry. His experience and expertise have assisted many churches in construction projects.
Pastor Clyde also serves on the Minnesota/Wisconsin Disaster Relief Team. More recently this ministry has included a focus on assisting churches in revitalization. He and His wife, Dee, have three children and six grandchildren.
Our Facility…

We have been blessed with a beautiful facility that was built by our congregation, along with the help of 1,100 volunteers from Builders for Christ. Pastor Hamer, prior coming to serve as our interim pastor, offered his contracting expertise and donated his time to serve as the General Contractor for our build.
Our facility offers plenty of space for our church family, as well as hosting other churches and groups here. Our beautiful commercial kitchen is used to prepare and package soup for our Soup for the Soul Ministry. Our generous classrooms are used for our Sunday classes and by the Music Academy of Greater Milwaukee, by Emmaus Fellowship Grief Counseling (Grief Share), El-Bethel Baptist Church (Burmese church) that meets here at 2pm on Sunday afternoons, and the Arabic Church of Milwaukee that meets here on Saturday mornings at 10:30 twice a month.
