About Us…

Welcome to Layton Avenue Baptist Church. Grow in faith, serve with purpose express what we would like to accomplish as a congregation. From preschoolers to senior adults we want you to know about Jesus and what it means to believe in him and to follow him as a disciple. Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves, he also entrusts to us the responsibility of being on mission. This is where the serve with purpose part comes in.

As you explore our website we hope that you’ll see ways in which we are seeking to be faithful in our service. Check out our Soup for the Soul Ministry and Bible Study offerings. Another way for you to know more about us is to visit our Facebook page or YouTube Channel.

The best way to learn more about us is to be our guest some Sunday morning at our Worship service, 10:45 a.m. You’ll find a warm welcome and we look forward to meeting you. If you have questions, please email or call the office and someone would be glad to talk with you.

Pastor T.J. Rehak joined us in September 2023. He has been in vocational ministry for approximately 5 years, including being a chaplain and a pastor. He has a passion to see people both come to faith in Jesus Christ, and grow in their faith. As a result of greatly desiring to assist others in their spiritual growth, he has worked on developing discipleship tools and he continues in that spiritual endeavor. He is inspired by 2 Peter 3:18 NKJV “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

LABC cross

The stylized Cross in our logo represents the memorial Cross adorning the front of our building.  On December 30, 2002, Kathy Gariety and two other missionaries were killed by a terrorist in Yemen.  A longtime youth leader at our church, Kathy was commissioned in 1992 to serve the Jibla Hospital there as a purchasing and supply agent.  Kathy was an artist in her own right, leading the church to believe that a special design was needed to remember her.

We belong to the Southern Baptist Convention and adhere to the theological and doctrinal statements of the SBC. The SBC is a collection of like-minded churches working in cooperation with one another to impact the whole world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
